Carson City deputies arrested a 56-year-old Carson City resident for failing to update his registration as a sex offender.

UPDATE 10:17 a.m.: A suspect has been taken into custody in connection with the incident.

A manager for the business stated the suspect entered the business and attempted to make a purchase. Due to the individual’s suspected high intoxication he was denied service.

Carson City Health and Human Services is reporting the first case of monkeypox in Lyon County. The case is isolating at home and does not require hospitalization. CCHHS has investigated and conducted contact tracing. No additional cases have been identified and no other information is available.
