Northern Nevada Dream Center annual toiletries drives helps those in need
The Northern Nevada Dream Center's toiletries bins were over half full after an hour of collecting donations in front of the Carson City area Walmarts on Saturday. Walmart shoppers and community members were eager to donate after hearing about the cause.
The Northern Nevada Dream Center is a group of volunteers with a vision to bring hope and relief to residencts in local communities. The organization aims to meet basic needs of families and individuals by providing assistance.
"The Northern Nevada Dream Center is a great organization. They give you hope and let you know that someone cares and that this isn't the worst thing that can happen to you," said Nathan O'brien, a volunteer collecting donations.
The Rescue Bag toiletries project is just one among many of the projects the organization puts on to help members of our community. They also do events such as, Pie to the Rescue and a Sunday Supper outreach that bring food and necessities to families and individuals living in motels.
The Northern Nevada Dream Center is always taking volunteers and donations to help change people's lives.
Volunteers will be at both stores until 4 p.m. Saturday collecting travel sized toiletries. For more information go to www.nndreamcenter.org.
Participating stores are: Carson City Walmart, 3200 Market St., and the Carson City Walmart off Topsy Lane at 3770 Highway 395.
