Carson City sheriff’s crime log: Officers make several warrant arrests
A 44-year-old Carson City man was booked into jail Monday on a felony warrant, failure to appear, a Carson City sheriff's deputy said.
David Stanley Gross was taken into custody on a warrant out of Lyon County District court issued June 28.
In other arrests:
— A Virginia City man, Joshua Thomas Cattiero, was arrested Sunday, 11:28 p.m. in the 1700 block of Russell Way on a felony failure to appear warrant issued out of Reno Township.
— A 24-year-old Sparks man was arrested Sunday, 12:08 a.m. in the 1600 block of Medical Parkway on a misdemeanor violation of a suspended sentence. According to the arrest report officers were called to a bar for an intoxicated man outside. He was breathing but unresponsive. Family members reported he used cocaine and was drinking heavily. He was medically treated for alcohol, cocaine and methamphetamine intoxication. His BAC was .350, according to the arrest report.
After being taken to the hospital and medically treated he was taken to jail for being in violation of Alternative Sentencing, which had clauses that he could not consume alcohol or drugs. Bail: $1,000.
— A 34-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Sunday, 8:50 a.m. in the 2700 block of Menlo Drive for a gross misdemeanor warrant alleging child neglect, and a misdemeanor warrant alleging petit larceny. Bail: $11,000.
— A 39-year-old Dayton woman, Katrina Lee Balzer, was arrested Sunday, 1:21 p.m. at Walmart in the 3200 block of Market Street on a felony warrant issued out of Lyon County for parole and probation violation, a misdemeanor warrant out of Carson City Justice Court to obtain money or goods under false pretenses, and misdemeanor suspicion of petit larceny.
According to the arrest report, store security advised the woman had concealed beauty supplies, a Hello Kitty dress and lingerie in her purse and attempted to leave the store without paying. Officers did a check through dispatch and learned of the warrants. She was held without bail in lieu of a hearing for the felony warrant. The bail amount for the misdemeanor charges was $1,352.
— A 47-year-old Gardnerville man booked into Carson City Jail Sunday, 4 p.m. on a misdemeanor warrant for contempt of court. Bail: $329.
— 23-year-old Gardnerville man was booked into jail Sunday, 4 p.m. on a misdemeanor warrant, failure to appear. Bail: $995.
— A 44-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Sunday, 9:53 p.m. in the 400 block of Lee Street on suspicion of domestic battery. According to the arrest report, the woman allegedly bit her boyfriend’s right arm during an argument. The woman had blood on her face and told officers she had bit her lip. An officer looked at the woman’s lip and did not see any injuries. The man had injuries consistent with being bit by a person, according to the arrest report. Bail: $3,137.
