Authorities have arrested Santiago "Sonny" Fernandez, 45, of Silver Springs in Lovelock Saturday morning, according to Lyon County Sheriff Al McNeil.

The Nevada Highway Patrol reports a fatal motorcycle crash that happened Friday morning in the southbound lane of I-580 near the Highway 50 overpass.

Youth Theatre Carson City features its production of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s "Into the Woods, Jr." beginning this Friday, July 28 and running through August 6 in the Bob Boldrick Theatre at the Carson City Community Center.

The Carson Nugget has a few tickets still available for the Jack Johnson shows this Friday and Saturday at Lake Tahoe Outdoor Arena. The ticket packages are $104 each and come with transportation on a tour bus up to Lake Tahoe.

Nevada Highway Patrol responded Thursday afternoon to three separate vehicle accidents that happened minutes from each other on I-580 in Carson City.

UPDATE FRIDAY: The Carson City District Attorney’s Office, in its criminal complaint, argues the victim was repeatedly sexually abused from the ages of 10 to 12, when the suspect was between the ages 16 to 18 years of age.

A 23-year-old man was booked into jail Wednesday on two felony counts suspicion of sexual assault of a child under the age of 14, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

Tickets for the 2017 Taste of Downtown sold out, Advocates to End Domestic Violence (AEDV) Executive Director Lisa Lee said Tuesday, making this year one of the most successful yet for the local non-profit dedicated to ending domestic abuse crimes in Northern Nevada.

The Nevada Artists Association Gallery is inviting local and regional artist to enter it's annual judged Photography Show. Judges will award 1st, 2nd and 3rd places. The exhibition is open to all photographers, membership in the NAA is not required. Entry date is Saturday, August 5, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
