Doing it Island Style: Northern Nevada Hui Association fundraiser Saturday at Carson Mall
Aloha! On Saturday, July 29, the Northern Nevada Hui Association will be having a fundraiser at the Carson Mall with food, activities and music throughout the day.
The event begins with a car wash from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Car washes are $5 and $10 for larger trucks and SUVs.
Hawaiian plate lunches will be available after 11 a.m. For $10, you will be treated to teriyaki chicken with a side of rice and macaroni salad, and a bottle of water.
Beginning at 11 a.m. inside the Carson Mall, you can enjoy traditional contemporary music sung by born and raised Hawaiian, Mr. Lee Jones, followed by Namolokama, a local Reno ukulele group.
The mission of the Northern Nevada Hui Association is to preserve the Polynesian culture in Northern Nevada by creating a network of individuals, who support each other and share the same vision. The association does this by promoting education, events, social and professional connections, and contributions outward with the greater Northern Nevada community - preserving the Polynesian heritage for the generations to come.
