Carson City Fire Department extinguishes apartment blaze
A fire at the Catalina Apartments on Old Hot Springs Road early Saturday morning has been extinguished, authorities with the Carson City Fire Department said, leaving one downstairs unit heavily damaged.
Nobody was injured in the fire, authorities said, the call for which came in to emergency dispatch at around 2 a.m. Saturday.
The blaze is suspected to have started in the kitchen area of the apartment unit, the fire department said, but nothing official has been released yet as the cause remains under investigation at this hour.
The fire department said the building had been evacuated safely during the fire, and all other residents have since been allowed back into their apartments.
Fire damage was isolated to a single downstairs unit, fire authorities said.
