UPDATE: Pack of wild dogs still at large following attack on herd of deer at Carson City Cemetery Friday night

UPDATE Saturday, 2:45 p.m.: According to Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong, law enforcement lost the pack of dogs and they are still roaming at large. Animal Control and law enforcement are continuing their search.

Please call 775-887-2677 with any sightings and do not approach the dogs.

Attempts to round up the dogs have been ongoing for several months but as of yet animal control has not been successful.

Please stay alert and keep eyes on any small pets.

Greg Hall of the Nevada Humane Society issued the following comment:

Nevada Humane Society Animal Control, the Sheriff's Department, and Tribal Police are working together to secure these three feral dogs that we believe are not owned and only minimally socialized.

This is a different dog pack from the one last year but likely from similar origins.

NHS captured the pack leader of the prior dog pack last year and this pack surfaced more recently. The dogs are very elusive and clever, making them difficult to tranquilize. Please do not interact with these dogs. Capture of the dogs is the coalition's top priority and we ask that anyone who sees a stray dog attacking wildlife to immediately call 887-COPS.
