Carson City sheriff’s deputies arrest man for obstructing, resisting
A 48-year-old man was arrested early Friday for misdemeanor suspicion of obstructing and resisting an officer and a failure to appear warrant, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
The man, identified as a transient, was arrested at 1:06 a.m. in the 3800 block of South Carson Street. According to the arrest report, deputies were called to a casino for a reported fight.
A deputy located one of the men hiding behind a car in the parking garage. The man began to run as a deputy ordered him to stop. The man ran up a hill on the south side of the garage, climbed over a fence and attempted to run on a sidewalk. He was apprehended and taken to the ground, the arrest report states.
The man resisted as the deputy attempted to cuff him and did not comply with repeated commands to stop resisting. The deputy was able to gain control after a brief struggle. The man refused to answer any questions about his name and date of birth. A deputy who was with the other party involved in the fight provided a name.
Dispatch sent the deputy a picture of the man, which matched the one on record and confirmed the man had a failure to appear warrant out of Douglas County. Bail: $1,872.
