Carson City man arrested on California murder and robbery warrant charges
UPDATE 7:23PM: Carson City Sheriff's Office investigators assisted Butte County, Calif., authorities in arresting a Carson City man Thursday on murder and robbery charges in which a Northern California man, who had a large quantity of processed marijuana at his residence, was shot to death in November.
Thomas James Thornhill, 38, was arrested, along with four other suspects, on suspicion of murder, robbery and conspiracy following the Nov. 23, 2015 shooting death of Paradise, Calif., resident Adam Wrangham.
The investigation revealed the victim had a large quantity of processed marijuana at his residence when he was murdered, said Lt. Steve Rowe of the Paradise Police Department.
Besides Thornhill four others are also charged with murder, armed robbery, home invasion and conspiracy. The other suspects are Joshua Bush, 23, of Illinois, Warwick Dinning, 35 of Arizona, Renae Disney, 46 of Paradise, Calif., and Jeffrey Stringer, 56, also of Paradise.
An extensive investigation and numerous search warrants and probation searches have been conducted in Butte County, Illinois, Arizona and in Carson City, said Lt. Rowe.
A series of arrests were made beginning last week and culminated in the final arrests made this week and Thursday in Carson City.
Several of the suspects fled Butte County after the incident. Bush was arrested on unrelated charges in Illinois, said Rowe. Dinning was arrested in Arizona and Thornhill arrested in Carson City.

Thomas James Thornhill, 38, was taken into custody Thursday morning, 10:20 a.m. without incident in the 3200 block of Arrowhead Drive, confirmed Carson City Sheriff's Office Lt. Brian Humphrey. The arresting agency serving the warrant for Thornhill's arrest was the Butte County Sheriff's Office.
Thornhill will be extradited to California by Butte County authorities, who were present at the time of the arrest, said Humphrey.
