Carson baseball recap: Senators advance to playoffs with 5-3 win against rival Douglas
The rivalry with the Douglas continued at Ron McNutt field last Thursday, May 4, as the Senators played win or lose out on the playoff sweepstakes.
Along with the intense feel to the game, it was also Senior Night for Carson, as seniors and parents received a standing ovation from the crowd for their tremendous efforts throughout their long 4-year journey.
The ultimate outcome of clinching a playoff spot worked in the Senators' favor, as Bryce Moyle pitched a full 6 innings, leaving the bases empty for the Tiger bats.
The Carson offense also struck fire, highlighting a 4-run, fourth inning to wind up victorious 5-3.
After an up and down season of positives and negatives, this win put Carson's record at 11-11 in league play, clinching a playoff spot in the process. The Senators will face off at Galena this Tuesday May 9, 4 p.m. at Galena High School.
