Easter Egg Hunts Take Place Friday and Saturday Throughout Area
Get an early start on Easter egg hunting Friday when Skyline Estates Senior Living hosts its Easter egg hunt for all ages at 2 p.m. Organizers invite children, parents, and grandchildren to attend. Skyline Estates Senior Living is located at 2861 Mountain St., in Carson City.
Elsewhere, the third annual Egg-stravaganza takes place Saturday, April 19 at 10 a.m. at Mark Twain Elementary School, Carson City. Justin Simmons reports there are 18,000-plus candy-filled eggs for the hunt collected thus far. This event is free for Carson City children. Aged zones are set up for toddlers through 11 years old, with a separate zone for special needs children. Even the Easter Bunny will be there for pictures and to celebrate with the kiddos.
Carson City Kiwanis Easter egg hunt takes place Saturday at John D. Winters Centennial Park, 5400 Heritage Way, Carson City. The special needs hunt begins at 11:30 a.m. and the general public hunt starts at noon. There will be more than 12,000 eggs. Volunteers are needed for this event. Also on Saturday, Abandoned Treasures in Dayton hosts its first Easter egg hunt. Start check in is at 9 a.m. and the hunt begins at 10 a.m., for children ages 1-12. There will be prizes, boiled eggs, baskets, candy and much more for the kids. Gentle barn w/ Beth Gee and Cowboy Don, will be there with their critters, so children can pet and feed the animals Bring a basket. There sill also be many different vendors on hand for a little retail therapy. There is no cost to attend.
The 19th annual Lahontan State Recreation Area Easter egg hunt takes place Saturday,at 10 a.m. in the Silver Springs day-use area. Plastic Easter eggs filled with candy will be hidden for age groups 0 to 5, 6 to 9 and 10 to 12. There will also be a raffle that includes gift certificates, food vouchers and toy- and candy-filled Easter baskets. The event is open to the public and there is no entry fee. The Minor Family in Dayton hosts their annual Easter egg hunt, Easter Sunday at 1 p.m., at Minor Ranch. Participants are asked to bring one dozen hard boiled, colored eggs for each child, between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m., Saturday, April 19. Children will be divided into groups 0 to 3, 4 to 7 and 8 years and older. Take Dayton Valley Road onto Minor Ranch Road across from Dayton Valley Golf Course and follow the signs.
