Join us on March 31st at 1 p.m. for our annual Easter Egg Hunt on The Lawn and Art for Kids Event. Kids and their families are welcome to continue the tradition of hunting Easter Eggs on our front lawn! Our 3rd-floor art studio will be set up with fun stations and kids and their families to create art after the hunt. Please arrive by 12:45 p.m., as the hunt begins promptly at 1 p.m. Bring your Easter baskets and get ready to hunt!

Please understand with the times of COVID we can only have 1 family in the studio at a time we will try to stay on track for appointments as much as possible. Good morning Carson City, and Happy Easter! Today will be more of the same with partly cloudy skies, gentle breezes, possible showers, with a high of 62 degrees and a low of 37 degrees. On the schedule today we have day two of egg hunting at the Nevada State Railroad Museum, an Easter Sunday service at the Community Center, a community bike ride, and more!

The first of two egg hunts at the Nevada Railroad Museum was a hit with the Easter hunters. Eggs filled with prizes, toys and stuffed animals were up for grabs during the hunt which lasted about one entire minute before the lawn was picked clean.

The Easter Bunny was on site for pictures, and inside the museum there will be children’s activities such as face painting, coloring stations, and more.

Festivities will continue throughout Saturday and then Sunday. The schedule is as follows:

Good morning Carson City and happy Saturday! It’s going to be a bit breezy today with 14 mph winds, partly cloudy skies and a high of 61 degrees. Low will be 39. Easter weekend has officially begun, and on the docket today we have the Underwater Easter Egg Hunt, the Carson Mall Candy Walk, a wildflower walk through King’s Canyon, and more!

Easter is this upcoming weekend, which means there will be a lot of small children, colored eggs, pastel colors, bunnies, candy, and festive spirits to be had. But Easter Sunday isn't the only day for egg hunts. Here's a list of upcoming egg-related activities for Carson City residents.

Celebrate the Easter season with friends and family at Western Nevada College in Carson City this Saturday.

Good morning Carson City, and happy Saturday! Today is a day that will definitely feel like Spring, with temperatures almost to 70 degrees. The low tonight will be 36, reminding us that we haven’t shirked off the cold weather entirely just yet.

On the docket today we’ve got the Wine Walk at the Carson Mall, a Downtown Easter Egg Hunt, an Anniversary Party at Browser’s Bookstore, easter bunny photos, and more!

With Easter a week away, the Easter Bunny will make an appearance at the Carson Mall in Carson City this Saturday and Sunday, April 13-14 and again on April 20. Precious Moments will be joining the craft show, as it hosts the Easter Bunny who will have a special prize for each child.

The event runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

A number of Easter egg hunts are planned around the capital city beginning this weekend with the "Downtown EGGstravaganza" hosted by the Carson City Downtown Business Association.

With spring underway, April events at Washoe Lake State Park north of Carson City in Washoe Valley include an evening hike, an Easter Egg Hunt, and a birdwatching program.

Sierra-Tahoe Branch and Unit #137 of the Fleet Reserve Association hosted the Annual Easter Egg Hunt at the Marine Corp Mountain Training Center, Housing Area, Coleville, CA which was well received by the children and parents.

The Branch & Auxiliary members prepared 600 plastic eggs and stuffed them with candy and small toys. In addition, one of the members made bunnies out of washcloths which the children can use instead of an ice pack (also known as boo-boo bunnies).

Happy Easter Carson City and surrounding towns. Most of today’s happenings are Easter related, with a spattering of reoccurring events. It's opening day for Carson City BMX. It's two-wheeled fun open to all ages, so go see what all the fuss is about. For the adult crowd, the annual Easter Party at Carson Cigar Co. is a relaxing way to avoid the sugar-addled kiddies. We’ve got a beautiful spring weekend to enjoy. I’d like to make this easy on you: if you are only looking for Easter-related fun, you’ll find it all HERE in my list of everything Easter. Those events are also included in this list, but there is so much more going on. Take a hike with Muscle Powered, get down to some live music, or cheer on your favorite roller derby girl.

It was a hop, skip and jump in Carson City on Thursday afternoon as Scoups Ice Cream and Soup Bar teamed up with the Carson City Classic Cinema Club to bring plenty of family-friendly Easter fun to the downtown area.

Let’s get a jump on Easter weekend. Head down to McFadden Plaza this afternoon for kids activities, an egg hunt, and a special showing of the classic movie ‘Easter Parade.’ The beautiful weather is just begging to be celebrated, so join up with Muscle Powered for a hike up to Timberline. Bring a camera, the views of the valley will be spectacular. Happy birthday to everyone that was born in March. The Carson Cigar Company holds their monthly Birthday Thursday celebration tonight with live music featuring the Trippin King Snakes. If you’re in Dayton, swing by 1st and 10 Sports Bar tonight.

Easter festivities are on the way, starting with the Easter Eggstravaganza in the Bob McFadden Plaza on Thursday. You’ll find fun stuff: Easter Bunny photos, brunches, egg hunts, services and more throughout Carson City, Dayton, Douglas, and Virginia City. To make it easier to find something in your neck of the woods, I’ve put in ‘bold’ the name of any town outside of Carson City.

THURSDAY:

Do you ever wonder about that old stone house at the eastern entrance to Mills Park? Called the Wungnema House it has interesting history. Take a tour today during the monthly open house, and learn more about the early residents of Carson City. As a child of the 80s, I’m excited about this week’s Flashback Cinema feature at Galaxy Theaters. "The Dark Chrystal" was a favorite of mine. If you’ve got kids, or a pang of nostalgia, catch one of the two showings today, or again Wednesday. Read on for more of what's happening today.

Scoups Ice Cream and Soup Bar has partnered this year with Carson City Classic Cinema Club to bring family-friendly fun to downtown Carson City, Scoups owners Geoffrey and Kimberly Landry said.

The weekend has arrived, and it will be an exceptionally long one for the schoolkids of Carson City: spring break begins Monday. There’s a rumor of snowfall for this weekend, but it’s not expected to be too heavy in the valley. Don’t quote me on that, though, I’ve been wrong before. Break a leg to the Douglas students performing in ‘Game of Tiaras’ this weekend; the show sounds hilarious, but be warned, it’s not for kids. Smack dab in the middle of April and the town is officially in its Spring thaw. Easter is on Sunday, so just about anywhere you go you’ll find the Bunny and an egg hunt. To make it easy, I’ve moved all of those events to their own everything Easter list HERE.

So much is happening this weekend, that breaking my weekend list up seemed like the only thing to do. Eggs galore, brunches, and family friendly fun is what you’ll find here. SATURDAY, April 15:

Those Easter Baskets won’t stuff themselves. Find something for your hunny-bunny at the Craft Fair and Merchant Expo in the Nugget Banquet Room. Family Day at A to Zen offers lazy Sunday quality time with the kids. Wash the recent storms off your car and help send the Carson High Robotics Team to their next competition when you stop by their car wash at the downtown ARCO. Relaxation is on tap at Jimmy G’s Cigar Bar as Roska Entertainment brings you their first ‘Rehab Sunday.’

SUNDAY: Palm Sunday

It’s not the sunny spring weekend many of us were hoping for, but it’s here nonetheless. Start the day at Applebee’s for a Flapjack Fundraiser to benefit the Eagle Valley Middle School Robotics Team. TOCCATA kicks off its 12th season of Bach’s St. Matthew Passion; enjoy free admittance to today’s dress rehearsal at Shepherd of the Sierra Lutheran Church. No matter what your interests, this valley offers something for everyone. Keep reading for this weekend’s options.

SATURDAY:

Join us for the first annual Spring Faire at Fuji Park in Carson City on April 15, 10 a.m. This is a free event open to the public. We are raising money for the Esperanza Foundation to help Vets with healing and for the Littlest Things that do Kindness events with animals and more for the community.

Fuji Park is located at 601 Old Clear Creek Road in Carson City.

Silver Springs, NV. – Lahontan State Recreation Area is proud to host its 22nd annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 15. This popular family event includes candy, prizes and photos with the Easter Bunny. Due to generous donations from local businesses and residents, the park plans to hide several thousand eggs this year.
