Thursday, April 16: Things to do in Carson City
This National High Five Day I’m throwing out a virtual high five to the University of Nevada Cooperative Extension for putting on this year’s Capital City Farm Days at Fuji Park. 4-H is alive and well in our region, and rightfully so. Agriculture is a huge part of what makes this state great. The program is geared toward school-children, but is open to the public today and tomorrow if you want to learn more about ranching and farming in our region.

Henry Mancini, composer, was born this day in 1924. If you’ve ever been tempted to sing ‘Moon River’ at Jimmy G’s Cigar Bar or the Feisty Goat Pub at Karaoke Thursday nights, you’ve got him to thank. He gave us numerous soundtracks, television theme songs, and background mood music. Check him out on YouTube.
