Since 2018, the Carson City 4-H PJ Drive for Kids in Foster Care has been collecting and donating pajamas to the CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) Kids’ Closet. We started the Drive to give our little ones a chance to give back to their community in a way that is meaningful them, through giving a cozy pair of pajamas to another child.

Carson City 4-H is holding its 4th annual Pajama Drive For Kids in Foster Care. We are collecting new pajamas in all sizes and styles for the CASA of Carson City Foster Kids’ Closet to be distributed to local children. Larger children's and adult sizes for teens are especially needed.

The annual4-H Fabric Sale sponsored by the Carson City, Storey County 4-H Council has been canceled for this year due to the ongoing Covid 19 pandemic. The annual sale is traditionally held at Fuji Park Exhibition Hall in late January or early February.

Golf tournament, fundraisers, railbike tours and more highlight weekend events around Carson City

The Nevada Day Golf Tournament in remembrance of Mayor Bob Crowell will be held at Silver Oak Ranch Golf Course on Saturday. RENO — To adapt to the recent restrictions amid COVID-19, the Nevada Junior Livestock Show will hosts its annual livestock show online this Monday through Friday, May 4-8. Youth ages 9-19 throughout the state and parts of California will be judged on their showmanship and knowledge of their chosen animals through videos they submitted online.

Nevada 4-H youth and their families launch statewide effort to make face masks

When the Elko County Emergency Operations Center put in a call March 31 to their local University of Nevada, Reno Extension office saying they needed face masks, Extension’s 4-H youth and their families swung into action, making masks not only for the Operations Center, but also for their local School District nutrition services workers who are helping to serve lunches to students who receive free and reduced meals.

Sales times for Saturday, Feb. 1 are from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.. Sunday, Feb. 2 , sales times will run from 9 a.m. to noon. Fabrics of all kinds and sewing notions will be available for purchase. Most fabric will be sold for a dollar a yard. All proceeds from the sale will benefit Carson City, Storey County's 4-H Council scholarship funds.

Carson City Adele’s announces it has closed its doors, permanently, following March fire

With the closing of Cafe at Adele’s, Carson City and its community will witness the end of an era.

This decision by owners Chef Charlie and Karen Abowd, comes in the wake of a fire that occurred March 28, and the subsequent inability to negotiate a settlement with the insurance company that would cover reconstruction costs.
