National Library Week

Friends of the Carson City Library will be hosting a book sale this Saturday, Dec. 5 at Browsers Corner Book Store located at 711 E Washington St. from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Browsers Corner Book Store, operated by the Friends of the Carson City Library, is having its grand reopening starting at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 17 with new hours being from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays.

Happening now through April 25 is National Library Week, a time to highlight the valuable role libraries, librarians and library workers play in transforming lives and strengthening communities. This week, the Carson City Library invites all community members to find the library at their place by visiting www.carsoncitylibrary.org to access virtual services and resources.

The Carson City Library will host a community read of My First Summer in the Sierra by John Muir for Capital City Reads, Carson City Library’s annual city-wide book club.

Capital City Reads takes place every April as a celebration of National Library Week, bringing people together through reading and discussion.

This year’s program starts with National Library Week on April 19 and will run through May 16.
