Firefighters extinguish slash burn pile that began to spread off of Old Clear Creek Road
Firefighters were called to a small, slow moving vegetation fire Sunday afternoon in the area of Old Clear Creek Road and Roberts Hill Road southwest of Carson City.
Dispatch was notified at around 2:45 p.m. of the fire. Firefighters on scene found a slash pile that had begun to spread.
The fire was 10 feet by 10 feet in size and was found moving at a slow rate of speed. Firefighters began dousing the flames on arrival and are now working on mopping it up, according to dispatch.
Slash burn piles are piles of vegetation set to be burned either privately with permit or by the Nevada Division of Forestry and the U.S. Forest Service.
The fire was fully extinguished at 3:21 p.m.
