Dayton woman arrested; released on bail following Sunday night fatal Highway 50 hit and run

UPDATE 1:40PM: The Nevada Highway Patrol has provided more details in the fatal hit and run on Highway 50 in Carson City that left a 27-year-old woman dead in a pedestrian collision on Sunday night.
A 48-year-old Dayton woman was arrested and faces a felony charge of leaving the scene of a hit and run causing death following the Sunday night fatality of the woman at around 11 p.m near Airport Road.
Cynthia Ann Munroe is free on $10,000 bail following the incident in which she is the suspected driver in the pedestrian hit and run, authorities said. She was driving a black 1999 Ford Explorer, authorities said.
According to an NHP news release:
The preliminary investigation indicates that a Black 1999 Ford Explorer was traveling eastbound on US50 in the #1 travel lane. For an unknown reason a 27-year-old female pedestrian entered US50 just east of Airport Road, she was traveling southbound to northbound and was not in a designated crosswalk. The right front of the Explorer struck the female pedestrian. For an unknown reason the female driver of the Explorer left the scene of the accident without rendering aid. The female pedestrian sustained fatal injures at the scene.
Munroe was arrested by Lyon County Sheriff's Office deputies in Dayton shortly after the incident in which she left the scene after colliding with the female pedestrian who was reportedly crossing the street near the Goodwill and a bar in the 3400 block of Highway 50 near Airport Road, authorities said.
The fatal was reported shortly before 11 p.m. Sunday night.
The Explorer was located at Pinecone and Amber Streets in Dayton. The Explorer was occupied by four; Ms. Munroe, a 15-year-old juvenile male, 14-year-old juvenile female, and a 10-year-old juvenile male. The woman was taken to the Lyon County Sheriffs Office for a voluntary blood draw and booked into the Carson City Sheriffs Office and faces charges of felony hit and run with death and driving while suspended.
The eastbound lanes were closed for approximately 3 hours. The name of the victim won’t be released until the Washoe County Medical Examiner’s Office positively confirms the identity and pending notification of next of kin.
