Sierra Nevada Forums explores 'Smart Cities' in Tuesday night talk
What is a smart city, anyhow? And how smart is Carson City? A smart city represents the intersection of basic and emergency services with emerging technologies.
Join Sierra Nevada Forums on Tuesday, Feb. 9 for a look into the concept of smart cities and how communities are transforming. The forum will be in the Performance Hall of the Brewery Arts Center. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with the presentation at 6 p.m. There is no fee but donations are accepted and appreciated.
Among the featured speakers will be Carson City Manager Nick Marano, Miya MacKenzie of the Hop and Mae Adams Foundation, Maureen McKissick, assistant manager to the City of Reno, Steve Lyons, a Smart Cities entrepreneur, and Carson City Supervisor Brad Bonkowski.
Sierra Nevada Forums is a diverse coalition of concerned citizens who volunteer their efforts to offer free or affordable informative public forums on current topics and crucial issues.
Speakers are selected from respected subject matter experts who adhere to sound research and peer reviewed evidence-based practices. Although some topics may be controversial our goal is to operate in good faith to select objective speakers that have not been subject to filters and political bias that would compromise facts. We seek speakers from the National, State and local levels.
