Highway 50 at Tahoe closed from Round Hill to Cave Rock due to multiple crashes

UPDATE 10:55AM: Nevada Highway Patrol is again closing a portion of Highway 50 at Lake Tahoe after briefly re-opening. According to dispatch, conditions are slick through the area and a trooper was nearly struck by a vehicle.

UPDATE 10:38AM: Eastbound and westbound traffic was set to resume with Nevada Highway Patrol guiding motorists through areas that experienced multiple vehicle crashes, according to dispatch.

Highway 50 from Round Hill to Cave Rock at Lake Tahoe was closed Friday morning due to multiple crashes caused by icy roads.
According to Eric Guevin, Fire Marshal of Tahoe Douglas Fire, Nevada Highway Patrol shut the road down at 8:45 a.m. Friday after there were several collisions near the Presbyterian Conference Grounds.
Guevin said NDOT is on the way to put down sand.
There are serious injuries to some of those involved. NHP is also at the scene of accidents near Cave Rock and Round Hill.
There is no estimated time of reopening.
With Kingsbury Grade closed, this stretch of road has been heavily used by commuters.
