Carson City sheriff's deputies make weekend arrests for suspected domestic battery, DUI
A 29-year-old man was arrested Saturday for suspicion of domestic battery, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report.
At 9:21 p.m. CCSO deputies responded to a residence for a domestic battery call. Dispatch advised the victim's fiancé pushed her into the bathtub.
Deputies arrived and spoke with the two who had been at Lake Tahoe earlier and had been consuming alcohol. The two got into an argument where the victim said the man punched her in the face while they were driving back to Carson City.
While speaking with the woman, the officer observed her upper lip was swollen and appeared to be cut, the report states. The victim explained that when they arrived in Carson City, the man pulled the car over and told her to get out of the vehicle. The woman called a friend who later arrived and took her back home.
The woman stated she got home and took her child to the bathroom to give him a bath before bed and to care for her lip.
She said the fiancé began yelling and demanding she return his phone to him. She said his phone was in a beach bag that was in the bathroom. She said the door was locked and the man forced his way inside, swinging the door open, which hit her, knocking her into the bathtub. She said the man laughed at her before walking out of the room. She then called dispatch for help.
A deputy observed the door from to the bathroom was broken and wood on the floor, indicating it was recently broken. The officer took photos of the door frame and injuries to the woman before going and speaking with the man.
The man stated he never touched the woman but said she was the one hitting him. The deputy did not see any injuries to the man while speaking with him. He said he never went into the bathroom and didn't know how the door got broken. He was arrested for suspicion of domestic battery. Bail: $3,137.

— A 52-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Sunday for suspicion of misdemeanor domestic battery. According to the booking report, deputies were called Friday to a domestic battery. The reporting party stated he was hit by his wife.
He told deputies that he had surgery on his lower back, making it hard for him to move around. The man stated his wife pulled him out of bed, where he fell to the floor. He stated he got up and pushed her. He stated she then attacked him, causing injuries to his neck and right arm where he was bleeding. He said both were drinking and that he did not want his wife to be arrested.
On Sunday, the deputy investigating the matter conducted a followup and met with the woman at the residence. She stated that her husband approached her and gave her a kiss on the cheek. She stated she had a sore on that side of her mouth and pulled away, according to the report. She stated this started the argument between the two and advised she scratched the man on the face and then he went into his room.
She said she was packing up her things to get a hotel room when her husband got out of bed and then fell down. She stated she left the house and got a hotel room before returning the next day.
The case was forwarded to the Carson City District Attorney's Office. Bail: $3,137.
— A 22-year-old Sparks man was arrested Saturday for driving with a revoked license. Bail: $637.
— A 39-year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday for suspicion of DUI and driving with expired plates. According to the booking report a CCSO deputy conducted a traffic stop on a SUV with expired license plates. The officer conducted a driver-side approach and met with the driver.
The officer observed glossy eyes and slight odor of alcohol coming from the man's breath. The officer also observed the driver slurring and having delayed speech. The man was asked if he had anything to drink. The man replied he had two shots of alcohol approximately 30 minutes prior and used mouthwash 20 minutes prior.
He was informed of the standardized field sobriety tests where he advised he had some medical issues and took medication. A deputy began reading instructions to a test where the man interrupted the instructions, stating he had beaten an DUI before and that he was going to win. The officer continued to read the instructions, but the man interrupted again.
He was asked if he would do the tests and he said no. He stated he did not want to do a preliminary breath test. He was arrested for suspicion of DUI and read the request for voluntary evidence, the report states. He stated he would give a breath test. The passenger in the vehicle took possession of the vehicle.
The man was taken to jail, where evidentiary test results were .136 and .135. He was booked for suspicion of DUI and driving with expired plates. Bail: $1,137.
