CANCELED: Nevada State Museum Hosts Victorian Fashion Show at Governor's Mansion

Event Date:
September 24, 2016 (All day)

This event has been canceled.
****
Mark your calendars for Saturday, September 24 2016, 2-5 P.M. to attend the fourth Oh, My Bonnets and Bustles! Fashion Show held at the Governor’s Mansion grounds in Carson City. Tickets are $25 and are available now at the Nevada State Museum store. Only 100 tickets will be sold in order to maximize the experience for attendees, so make sure to get yours soon! Proceeds will benefit the Friends of the NSM.

The event will highlight women’s fashions from the 1850s through the early 20th century, roughly the same time period that Queen Victoria reigned in Britain – hence the moniker “Victorian” Era. The fashions for the event come from the collection of Tina Davis-Hersey and Carolyn Davis, in addition to costumes created by members of the Great Basin Costume Society. The collection includes original outfits as well as costumes made from historic patterns. The show will follow a series of vignettes of daily Victorian life, from dressing in the morning to dancing in the evening. Participants will be wearing jewelry loaned by Northern Nevada Coin.

A high tea reception with refreshments and raffle/silent auction will follow the show. Guests are encouraged to dress in period costume for the event.

Contact Tina Davis-Hersey at 671-2364 for further information.
