Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Austin's House has had to reimagine their annual fundraiser! For this year's event we will be hosting an online auction, the Spring Forward Fundraiser, the week of March 22nd-27th.

Carson City Toyota is proud to donate to Advocates to End Domestic Violence, who provide much-needed services in our community for victims of domestic violence.

Typically, Taste of Downtown is the largest annual fundraiser for the nonprofit. Due to COVID-19, the event has unfortunately been cancelled.

Each year, the community gathers along the banks of the Truckee River to watch as hundreds of tiny yellow rubber ducks float across the water, and viewers cheer them on.

Adopt a Duck is one of the Nevada Humane Society’s biggest fundraising events of the year, and this year despite COVID-19, it will continue! However, instead of participants gathering on the banks, this year’s event will be live streamed from the Reno Shelter on August 29 at 12 p.m. and will consist of adorable shelter dogs and cats doing adorable activities.

In the famous words of the great Dr. Seuss, “You have brains in your head, and feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose.” The Children’s Museum of Northern Nevada, came to a cross roads in mid-March and has taken a stand and shifted to the direction they choose!

Heading into the weekend, there’s a bevy of activities around the Carson City region over the next three days. The Union will host a dining fundraiser for the Greenhouse Project on Friday, and artist Jakota Wass performs at Bella Vita Bistro. The 43rd annual Wild Sheep Show will be held at the Reno-Sparks Convention. Comedian Marc Yaffee headlines the Carson Comedy Club on Saturday with much more in store for the weekend! Not only did the nonprofit organization Fellowship of Christian Athletes open their Christmas tree lot Nov. 24 to raise funds for their organization’s events and outreaches, they also supported other organizations and individuals by giving away 350 Angel Tree Christmas stockings and Christmas trees to Carson City children and families in need, and they also partnered with Sierra Lutheran High School to donate 75 trees to the US Marines at the Warfare Training Center in Coleville, Calif.

A Christmas gift of $2,500 was presented Tuesday to Carson City's Advocates to End Domestic Violence by Greater Nevada Credit Union. The donation is to help assist victims of domestic battery in the community.

Happy Saturday, Carson City! Are you feeling in the holiday spirit yet? Thanksgiving is right around the corner, and soon after it will be the season of jingle bells, red fur hats, ugly sweaters and snow!

Heading into the weekend before Thanksgiving, there’s a mountain of activities around the Carson City region over the next three days. Events include the 25th annual Carson High School Holiday Craft Fair, a “War of the Worlds” play at the Brewery Arts Center, a Chili Bingo Night fundraiser to benefit the Carson Middle School Band, laughs at the Carson Nugget and much more.

Tonight, (Wednesday night) in Dayton, the Sutro Elementary School Boosters Club will host a spaghetti dinner fundraiser for a student, Maliya Gafford, who has been diagnosed with a brain tumor. A fundraiser is also planned for this Saturday in Carson City.

The dinner tonight is from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Sutro Elementary School multipurpose room, 190 Dayton Village Pkwy, Dayton.

The cost is $5. There will be a raffle, silent auction and a bake sale. Boosters will have a donation box in the office if you are unable to attend but would like to help.

Virginia City's Historic Fourth Ward School Museum’s 3rd Annual Steppin’ Back In Time fundraising event, highlighting The Fabulous 1950’s, will be Saturday, Oct. 5, 2019 from 5 to 8 p.m.

Join us for an exciting evening of fun as we step back to the era of the Sock Hop. Come dressed in your favorite Poodle Skirt or Denim (optional), enjoy hors d'oeuvres and refreshments and celebrate life as it was on the Comstock.

Flavors of India restaurant in Carson City will host a fundraiser Saturday for a local barber who was critically injured in a vehicle accident last month.

The annual fundraiser for the Friends of the Nevada State Museum is set for Saturday, August 3. Member Judi Miller has created another fabulous quilt to be raffled off at the Night with Notorious Nevadans – The Mint Edition fundraising event.

Take a spin in a new Ford vehicle this Saturday at Carson Mall in Carson City and help local disabled American veterans. For every test drive taken, Ford Motor Company through Capital Ford in Carson City will donate $20 to the Disabled American Veterans local chapter for a total of $6,000.

On Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at 6 p.m., Battle Born Progress will host its biennial Northern Nevada fundraising event, Celebrate Progress, in Carson City. The event recognizes the outstanding work of Northern Nevada’s progressive leaders, activists, volunteers, and organizations for their nonstop commitment to progressive values.

Tip-a-Cop to benefit Special Olympics of Nevada on March 28 the from 4 to 8 p.m. at 1st & 10 Bar and Grill, 240 Dayton Valley Road. Tip-A-Cop is a annual fundraising event organized by The Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics, where law enforcement officers volunteer their time as “celebrity waiters” in restaurants and receive tips to raise funds for Special Olympics, the world’s largest sports organization for people with intellectual disabilities.
