Since 1938, the Nevada Day Parade in Carson City has been an annual coming together to celebrate Nevada’s heritage and the founding of this great state on October 31, 1864.
Nevada school buildings won't reopen for remainder 2019-20 school year

Districts and charter schools with approved Emergency Programs of Distance Education are expected to continue to offer learning opportunities to all students through the previously scheduled end of the school year as determined by local calendars.

The longer one is explained by the National Weather Service, which says we are in between weather systems. It was adapted in the 16th century. However, in the preceding 1500 years we used the Julian calendar. Both calendars are pretty close to one another, and some Orthodox churches still go by the Julian calendar. As a result, many people around the world celebrate Jan. 7 as Christmas.

Erik Holland has worked as an artist his entire adult life. He started painting murals in Fairbanks, Alaska in the 1990's. He then moved to Reno, Nevada, achieving his dream of living in the high desert. He has had a one man show in Reno every year since 2001.
