Notice of Public Discussion of possible Carson City grant applications

January 14, 2021 - 9:00am Notice is hereby given that Carson City will conduct a public meeting and information session on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at 9:00 a.m. (All meetings will be online, please see directions below), in order review the application process for the COIVD-19, CDBG-CV, II & III, State Community Development Block Grant (CDBG-CV) Program and to solicit citizen input on possible activities to be included in the application.
Carson City received funding for CDBG-CV, allocation II & III from the Nevada Governor’s Office of Economic Development. The funds from allocation II and III have been combined for a total of $495,797 for projects or programs that prevent and/or respond to the spread of COVID-19.
ELIGIBLE ACTIVITIES PAID FOR WITH THE STATE CDBG-CV FUNDS MUST MEET ONE OR MORE OF THE THREE NATIONAL OBJECTIVES LISTED IN CDBG FEDERAL STATUTES AS FOLLOWS: BENEFIT TO LOW INCOME HOUSEHOLDS OR PERSONS; ELIMINATION OF SLUMS AND BLIGHT; OR MEETING URGENT COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT NEED.
The purpose of this public meeting is to provide information about the CDBG-CV program, how to apply, eligibility requirements, how and where funds can be used, and to give citizens an opportunity to make their comments known regarding what types of eligible activities the City of Carson City should apply for under the State CDBG-CV program. A final hearing will be held at the Carson City Board of Supervisors meeting for the possible approval of the Application Review Workgroup funding recommendations.

In order to be able to apply for this funding your agency must participate in the informational meeting held on 1-14-2021.
