We had a taste of fall last weekend. I had to cover my tomatoes and cucumber, which fortunately made it through okay. In some ways Iâm ready for the seasonal change, but mostly I would love to have mid-70 temperatures for a couple of more months without freezes at night.

On Wednesday, the Carson City Planning Commission voted to deny a proposed Boat and RV Storage project located off of Emerson Drive.
The project would span 3.64 acres east of Emerson and south of Louis Drive and would include up to 167 RV and boat storage spaces, including both covered and uncovered.

Eagle Valley Livestock, located in eastern Carson City on the old Buzzyâs Ranch property, made a plea on social media after it was discovered one of their cows was shot and killed by an unknown assailant. They say they have continuously heard gun shots in the area, and are now wondering if other animal deaths on the ranch could be at the hands of the same perpetrator.

Clean Up The Lake (CUTL) and The Martis Fund have successfully concluded a new pilot research initiative, yielding even more positive results than anticipated. UPDATE 8:30 a.m.: The Carson City Sheriffâs Office released the following press release:
On August 28th at approximately 10:59 p.m., Sheriffâs Deputies responded to a mobile home park at 170 Koontz Lane in south Carson City for a reported Domestic Battery With a Deadly Weapon. A teenaged juvenile had reported on 911 that his father had stabbed his mother multiple times. The juvenile also reported that his father had cut himself severely and was âalmost beyond helpâ.
The Carson City Republican Party will hold a Jailhouse Summer Break-Out on Saturday, Sept. 21 from noon to 4 p.m. at the historic Nevada State Prison.
The event features live music, catering by The Busboy, exciting guest speaker and much more.
