New real estate regulations discussed Tuesday at Carson City Rotary meeting, public invited
Carson City Realtor Garrett Lepire will be the featured speaker at the next Rotary Club of Carson City meeting. The public is invited to attend. Lepire will share insight into the current real estate market in our area in terms of sales, prices and time on the market.
“The market continues to have a low supply of homes for sale which is keeping the prices propped up,” he says.“However, interest rates hit a 15-month low this week which should bring more buyers into the marketplace as the lower rates will help make monthly payments more affordable.”
Lepire will also discuss the recent changes in how agents are compensated and the impact on buyers and sellers. “In my opinion, in the short term, things will largely stay as they always have been, which is seller compensating the buyer’s agent. But in the long term, buyers will participate in that payment so they have proper, professional representation but not pay all of it.”
The meeting takes place Tuesday, Sept. 3 at noon in the Brewery Art Center’s Grand Ballroom, 449 West King Street. Anyone interested in attending should email carsoncitynvrotary@gmail.com.
