Carson City's Catmandu introduces their Cat of the Week: Suzy Q
“Oh, Suzy Q Baby I love you.” This song is dedicated to our cat of the week, Suzy Q, an appropriate name and song for this cute, charming, and lovable one year old little kitty.
Despite a rough start in life, Suzy is very loving and affectionate and ready to go to her forever home. Suzy and her brother Sam were small kittens when they were abandoned at a feral colony. Sam was trapped and rescued, leaving Suzy to fend for herself. Because she was so small, she often went hungry when the bigger cats and skunks pushed her away and ate all the food. In spite of her situation, she raised a litter of kittens until they were old enough to be trapped and find forever homes.
The colony caretaker was determined to trap Suzy before she had another litter and was finally able to snag her and get her fixed. Typically, feral cats are released back to the colony after being spayed but the caretaker soon discovered that Suzy was friendly and eager for affection and attention. There was no way she could just put her back outside. So, Suzy came to Catmandu.
At first meeting Suzy is a bit scared, but the fear only lasts a moment and then she will rub up against you, purr and ask for pets and attention. She would likely do well with older respectful children but prefers to be your one and only pet. In the right family she will be the perfect companion. She just wants to be loved.
If you can give this sweet and special little girl the home she wants and needs, please complete a pre-adoption application on our website at CatmanduCC.org/adoptions and plan to meet her at Catmandu, 1829 Brown Street. We are open Friday through Sunday from 11am to 5 pm. If you plan to adopt, please arrive no later than 3 pm so you have plenty of time to spend with your prospective kitty before adoptions close.
