This past Thursday, July 6, SOSMC held the second round of an eclectic two round tournament known as the President’s Cup. What makes this competition unique is it’s played over two consecutive tournament Thursdays, but every player gets to use his best score from either round for each hole.

So, if a player has a blowup hole in one round but a better score in the other round, then the better score is used. It’s a fun experience that results in heavy bantering before and after each round.

In June, an appeal of a decision made by the Carson City Supervisors was struck down, reversing a permit denial of the Carson Valley Meats proposed meat processing facility.

The facility was proposed to be built in the industrial area of east Carson City, which would allow local ranchers a USDA certified location to process their animals for sale.
