Sparks Centennial Little League Punches their Ticket to the Little League Softball West Region Tournament
Sparks Centennial Little League’s 12u girls are on their way to represent the State of Nevada at the Little League Softball West Region Tournament in San Bernardino, CA. Centennial brought home the State Championship on Sunday in Battle Mountain winning over Southern Nevada’s Summerlin South 4-0 punching their ticket to Regionals. Centennial will be competing against other 12u girls from Arizona, Hawaii, Northern California, Southern California, and Utah for a spot in the Little League Softball World Series.
“We’ve been waiting for this opportunity for a long time, and we worked hard to get here. We are just so excited to get to do this!” said Emil Wright who pitched all 6 innings with 12 strikeouts, no walks, and no runs in the championship game.
“We are truly humbled and grateful to have this opportunity to represent our community, state, and to make Sparks Centennial Little League proud.” said Jess McDoniels, head coach.
The last time Sparks Centennial Little League sent a team to the West Region Tournament was in 2017.
The Little League Softball West Region Tournament gets going on July 22. Centennial will play their first game against Utah. It can be watched on ESPN+ at 9:00am.
