A 28-year-old Carson City man was arrested early Saturday morning for a Department of Alternative Sentencing violation after his girlfriend sent a family member text messages that said “help me” and “call the police,” a sheriff's deputy report states.

Western Nevada Wildcat Veterans are partnering with Wildcat Den Café for a Spaghetti Feed Fundraiser and Silent Auction on Dec. 13 in Carson Nugget Hall.

The cost is $10 per plate and the feed and auction will happen from 3 to 8 p.m.

The majority of donations collected will go toward providing a financial hardship gift for veterans attending WNC. The remaining donation funds will be used to support the club’s future events.

Responders were called to a vehicle accident near Retail and College Parkway just before 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Two vehicles were involved in the accident, according to dispatch, and are blocking traffic.

No injuries have been reported. Motorists should seek alternative routes.

UPDATE 12:36 p.m.: It was determined that the woman had been pushed from a vehicle, but the vehicle was stationary at the time. A Sheriff's deputy transported the woman, who denied medical service, to the station for further investigation.

I-580 should now be clear for traffic.

First responders were called to the area of I-580 between College and 50 around 12:30 p.m. Saturday on the report of a woman possibly being shoved out of a vehicle on the freeway south of College Parkway.

A Hot Air Balloon landed in Silver Oaks this morning.

An attempt was made to land on the playground at Bethlehem Lutheran Church and School but the winds wouldn't cooperate.

The Pilot safely landed in Silver Oaks on Evergreen St.

Once the balloon was on the ground, the Pilot, Karalyn Mumm, gave tethered rides to a few of the children who gathered to watch.

A 30-year-old South Lake Tahoe man was arrested in the 1100 block of Cedar Street Friday morning for felony violation of a stalking and harassment protection order.

According to the report, Joshua Patterson was arrested after a woman alerted dispatch that Patteson was at her house while she was at work in violation of an extended protection order (EPO) for stalking and harassment. Both the woman and her husband were protected against the man on the EPO.

The EPO was served to Patterson on Aug. 20 and required he stay away from the residence.

Robin Miles, 58, was sentenced to life in prison with a possibility of parole after ten years on Wednesday after being charged with sexual assault on a child under the age of 14, lewdness with a child under 14, and child sexual abuse.

Miles plead guilty to lewdness with a child under the age of 14, and was sentenced on Nov. 20 in District Court.

Miles was originally arrested on Dec. 15, 2018 by Special Enforcement Team deputies on warrants charging him with the above offenses.

Miles was known as a local Carson City comedian prior to his arrest.
