Carson City deputies make arrest in vehicle pursuit and search, driver remains at large
A vehicle pursuit and search overnight ended with one man in custody and the driver, who fled after crashing his vehicle, currently at large, according to the Carson City Sheriff's Office.
The suspect who remains at large is Daniel McNeil, age 27, who is also wanted on several outstanding felony warrants.
McNeil is described as a white male, 5 feet 10 inches tall and approximately 170 pounds with blue eyes and blonde hair. McNeil has a tattoo on his left arm, wrist, right hand and fingers. McNeil’s last known address is out of Dayton, and is known to drive a 2000 white Ford F150.
Just before midnight, a Carson City Sheriff's patrol deputy attempted to stop McNeil, for having a tail light out and a stolen license plate. McNeil was also recognized as being involved in recent catalytic converter thefts, according to CCSO Detective Sam Hatley.
McNeil sped off in his vehicle, driving recklessly and at a high rate of speed into the rifle range area, where he eventually crashed, according to the detective. McNeil and his passenger, Tony Eldridge, took off on foot. Eldridge was captured and taken into custody. McNeil is still at large.
