Plants to make gardens, flower beds thrive at upcoming Greenhouse Project's Mother's Day sale
The Greenhouse Project's 13th annual Mother's Day Plant Sale will be bigger and better than ever. In addition to providing the quality, acclimated and diverse selection of plants you need for thriving gardens and flower beds, TGP is turning the day into a festive event.
"This year we're having an open house so that the community can see what we've been up to the past two years with the addition of the outdoor classroom and the new Native Plant Nursury & Composting at Green Central," said Karen Abowd, TGP president and co-founder. "We're also adding a raffle, food trucks, face painting and a Build Your Own Basket for Mom option.
"After the last two years, we thought the community would enjoy a special way to celebrate Mom and Spring."
In addition to being able to shop in person at TGP's Green Central location on Carson High Campus, Saturday, May 7 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., pre-orders for warm season plants can be made on TGP's Shopify, April 30 through May 6, and picked up the day of the sale or after May 7, during scheduled pick up times.
Select from a wide variety of healthy, acclimated plants including tomatoes, peppers, petunias, milkweed, perennials, herbs and much more.
Cold weather plants are currently available at TGP's Spotify. Check daily for new additions.
Go onto our Shopify site and shop for plants that are appropriate for spring planting now and pick them up at our Green Central location, www.ccgreenhouseproject.myshopify.com. New plants will be added to the inventory as they come available.
The raffle includes an array of fantastic prizes, including his and her fat tire decorated bikes perfect for Blinky Man or Burning Man, a painting by Karen Abowd, jewelry creations by Vicki Crabb, wine caddy with corkscrew, glasses and wine, courtesy of Cory and Linda King and a hand made garden themed quilted wall hanging by Cheryl Rotter. Tickets cost $5 each or five for $20.
We will also be offering a “Build Your Own Basket” for mom option with garden aprons, gloves, cards, ribbons, seeds, and of course, plants. Cost starts at $20.
The Boba Babes and Panchos food truck will also be serving food, and there will be face painting.
This event is a major part of The Greenhouse Project's fundraising efforts to help us do what we do best, which is to provide produce to the food insecure in our community. Without the help of our own community, we would not be able to provide the resources we do to those in need.
Build your garden while building your community! Join us in our mission of Growing, Giving & Teaching for a Healthier, Greener, Sustainable Community."
