Carson City Humane Society's Pet of the Week: Jolene, in honor of National Adopt a Guinea Pig Month
Happy Wednesday Carson City. Today’s Pet of the Week is none other than Jolene. What better way than to celebrate National Adopt a Guinea Pig month than with this sweet, 2-month-old critter.
Jolene is shy and nervous at first but is curious once she gets to know you. She enjoys pellets, timothy hay, carrots, celery and lettuce.
Jolene came into our care after being surrendered from a household that had too many animals, and she’s been in the Critter Corner since mid-February.
We spoke to Jolene and here’s what she said, directly translated from her squeaks: “I am a refined lady who appreciates personal space but finds other guinea pigs endlessly entertaining! I’m independent and bold, but it can take a while to show that side. I love attention and I’m pretty good at affection once you break through my initial shyness. Can you give me the time I need to learn and grow?”
Jolene is only $10 to adopt. She’d love to meet you today.
You can meet Jolene by visiting the Carson City branch of the Nevada Humane Society located at 549 Airport Road in Carson City, or by calling (775) 887-2171 to find out more.
