Carson City Lions hosts annual 'recycle used eyeglasses' campaign
The Carson City Host Lions Club is conducting a special campaign to collect and recycle used eyeglasses with the help of the Carson City School District.
Collection boxes will be placed in elementary school classrooms on a rotating basis from February 23rd to April 17th. Students are invited to donate used prescription eyeglasses and place them in the collection boxes in their homerooms. The Lions will pick up, refurbish, and distribute the donated eyeglasses to those in need.
The collection boxes will be placed in classrooms on the following schedule:
— Bordewich-Bray Elementary School, March 10 to March 24
— Empire Elementary School, March 10 to March 24
— Fremont Elementary School, Feb. 23 to March 9
— Fritsch Elementary School, March 27 to April 17
— Mark Twain Elementary School. Feb. 23 to March 9
— Seeliger Elementary School, March 27 to April 17
The Lions also have collection boxes for used eyeglasses throughout the community and are available all year long. Those drop-off locations include:
