A 28-year-old man was arrested Monday for suspicion of felony child abuse/neglect causing mental harm, domestic battery with strangulation and other offenses, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report.

A Reno man who sent death threats to multiple Nevada elected officials over stolen election claims will serve 6 to 15 years in prison. The sentence was handed down Oct. 12 by Judge Egan Walker with the Second Judicial District Court, Department 7.

The areas first regional K9 event was held this last Saturday at Fuji Park in Carson City and brought in 28 K9 teams from eight different law enforcement agencies throughout Northern Nevada. Those dog teams competed in four events, including drug detection, explosive detection, agility, and suspect apprehension; all primary specialties of our four-legged partners.

Night Off the Streets center for the homeless will conduct volunteer training

Presented by the Brewers Association, GABF is the nation’s largest commercial beer competition and recognizes the most outstanding beers produced in the United States.

On Oct. 13 at 10 a.m., the Comstock Ladies 109 Organization presented to several school related programs a donation totaling more than $29,000. Donations have been collected over the last year through a raffle of a handmade quilt.
