Carson City arrests: Man booked for alleged felony domestic battery, child abuse/neglect offenses
A 28-year-old man was arrested Monday for suspicion of felony child abuse/neglect causing mental harm, domestic battery with strangulation and other offenses, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report.
Luis Lill was taken into custody at 10:44 p.m. following an investigation. He also was booked for felony suspicion of domestic battery with substantial bodily harm and misdemeanor obstructing.
The man allegedly punched and kicked the victim in the face, neck and stomach area multiple times in various rooms of a residence in front of the victim's young daughter. The suspect also allegedly strangled the victim. The victim was taken to the hospital where she was treated for injuries.
The suspect was located and identified. He was read is Miranda warning and agreed to speak. He stated he was minding his own business when the woman decided to hit him, striking him multiple times in the face.
The deputy investigating noted there wasn't any injuries to his face. He said he hit the woman in self defense and had had injuries to his knuckles, which were bleeding. Total bail amount listed: $75,412.
In other arrests:
— A 48-year-old woman, Trina Lee McCarthy, was arrested Monday for suspicion of felony violation of parole and misdemeanor obstructing with false statements. No bail hold in lieu of a hearing.
— A 69-year-old man was arrested early Tuesday for a probation violation warrant issued in November 2021 out of Carson City Justice Court and a failure to appear contempt of court warrant issued December 2021 out of Dayton Township Court. Bail: $6,140. A woman with him was also found to have a contempt of court warrant issued Sept. 27, 2022. Bail: $100.
