The Carson City Parks, Recreation and Open Space Department is hosting its second annual “Can’t Dodge This” co-ed dodgeball tournament Friday, Nov. 4 starting at 6 p.m.

League of Women Voters of Northern Nevada, AAUW Capital (NV) Branch and Sierra Nevada Forums presented the third of four election forums of 2022 on Friday, Oct. 11 located at the Brewery Arts Center in Carson City.

The Nevada Day Powwow will return on Oct. 28 at the Multi-Purpose Athletic (MAC) Center in Carson City after a two-year hiatus.

There are a lot of Nevada Day activities at the Carson Mall this year and so Carson Mall management is asking the public be respectful and safe when driving through the Carson Mall parking lot and parking area.

Though temperatures dropped Wednesday with a weak system sweeping the region, near average temperatures return for the rest of the week into Nevada Day weekend and Halloween with mostly sunny skies and mild, dry conditions, according to the National Weather Service.

On Sunday, October 30, 2022, Capitol City Gun Club in Carson City will host a Halloween Fun Shoot from 9 a.m.to 5:30 p.m. Fees will be discounted for all day and shooters who come in costume will receive one free round of twenty-five targets on a course of their choice. Everyone is invited to come!

CARSON CITY — In observance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Carson High School NJROTC cadets sold pink aiguillettes to wear on their uniforms with all proceeds donated to the Carson Tahoe Health Cancer Center. The battalion provided an oversized check in the amount of $1,000 to Carson Tahoe Health representatives Angelina Craig, director of philanthropy, and Brittany Munns, philanthropy coordinator, yesterday on the football field.

Attention musicians! The Carson City Symphony, conducted by David Bugli, will begin rehearsals for the 39th annual Holiday Treat Concert on Wednesday, November 2, 7:00 to 9:15 p.m., at the Carson High School band/orchestra room, 1111 N. Saliman Road in Carson City.

The Potter's House Church in Carson City will be hosting a Trunk or Treat event on Saturday, Nevada Day, from 4 to 6 p.m. Activities include a bounce house, candy, food truck, games and more.

The next Carson City School District School Board meeting will take place tonight, Tuesday Oct. 25 beginning at 7 p.m. at the Robert ‘Bob’ Crowell Board Room within the Carson City Community Center.

A 33-year-old man was arrested Friday for suspicion of domestic battery, property damage and simple assault, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office arrest report.
