The team spent the majority of the day making improvements to the structure referred to as the carriage house. The lodge members are working with the Friends of the Sultro Tunnel to support the restoration effort.

Carson City Elks help support first responders
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Sun, 08/07/2022 - 9:06pmOn August 2, the Carson City Elks Lodge #2177 was out in force to provide drug awareness goodie bags to kids and cooked 2,000 hotdogs, to help support our First Responders on Sheriff’s Night Out at Mills Park. Parents and their children had a fun time visiting the various booths of local businesses who also were out in support to our first responders.

Xquisite is a local nonprofit that is dedicated to bringing freedom and empowerment to sexually exploited women and survivors of sex trafficking, sexual assault, and domestic violence to live healthy, flourishing lives.

A long haired girl who loves to be brushed, she is a strong and healthy 12 years young. Since many cats live to be 20 or older, Jewels likely has some good years left to share with the right loving human companion.

Support local students and teachers during the Greater Schools Supplies Drive
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Sun, 07/31/2022 - 5:23amAs the new school year quickly approaches, Greater Nevada Credit Union has launched the Greater School Supplies Drive to support Nevada students, teachers and schools by gathering the supplies needed for a successful academic year.
Many students lack the necessary supplies to succeed in the classroom, and teachers often use personal funds to purchase them. The average K-12 teacher spends an average of $750 of their own money to supplement their classroom’s supplies, without reimbursement.

Site Cleared for new Dayton Boys & Girls Club Playground

The site work is beginning thanks to Rolling Rock Construction and Coons Construction.
