Carson City Humane Society ‘Yard Sale’ continues through 5 p.m. Saturday, offering beds, bowls, outfits and more

Funds raised go to supporting the ongoing mission to save and rehome animals within our community.

Demonstration of how to make cold-pressed lotions and lip balms.
You will walk away with a luminaire, lotion bar, hand soap and a lip balm.
Open to persons ages 12+, youth must be accompanied by an adult

Encaustic Art Classes - UNR Extension Douglas County

Instructor: Tricia Poulos Leonard is a painter who works in acrylic, watercolor and mixed media and resides in Reno, Nevada
Monday, June 20.
3 sessions starting at 10 am/12:30/3:00pm- each class is 2 hours long and includes supplies, drinks, and light snacks.
Six students per class.
Fee $40
Location: 1325 Waterloo LN, Gardnerville, NV
Ages 10 and up, children must be accompanied by an adult

This shy, gentle, nine-year-old female cat has been at the Carson City Animal Shelter longer than any other pet, and she is starting to become very sad. The team there is worried about her and working hard to find her a new happy home asap!

As the library transforms into an underwater reading haven with coral reefs, Orca and blue whales and manta rays swimming overhead, library officials challenge the community to read a cumulative total of 400,000 minutes throughout the challenge weeks.

Carson City Elks lay Flags on Veteran's graves
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Sun, 06/05/2022 - 8:17pmOn May 28th Carson City Elks Lodge No. 2177 joined other veterans organizations to place flags on the graves of veterans from all services at Lone Mountain Cemetery in Carson City.
Cooler weather led to a big turnout of volunteers. Additional veterans' events by the Elks is a breakfast on the second Monday of every month and an annual veterans dinner, free to all veterans, on Veterans Day in November.
The vacant chair at each lodge is a symbol of our motto: ‘As long as there are veterans, the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks will never forget them'.
