Carson City Classic Cinema Presents "Jurassic Park" (1993)

The Carson City Classic Cinema Club, Garrett Lepire, and Carson City Parks & Rec are once again teaming up to present a schedule of free Summer Outdoor Family Movie Nights at Mills Park (1111 E. William Street, Carson City NV 89701 - near the skate park).

This year, we'll also have some fun pre-show activities and Kona Ice will be at some screenings with their festive music and Hawaiian Ice treats. Bring your favorite chairs, blankets and picnic fare to stake out your space early. Films begin at sunset.

Farmer's Market, Vintage Market to begin their summer seasons Saturday in Carson City

Two summertime open-air markets will begin Saturday June 4 in Carson City: the annual Carson City Farmer's Market, and the inaugural year for the Vintage Market.

Saturday Morning Kids Pottery Class

Join us Saturday morning for our Saturday Morning Kids Class! A Saturday morning class taught by Jo Moore, for ages 5 and up. In this two-hour class, kids will learn basic pottery skills, like pinch pots, rolling and attaching coils, rolling clay slabs, and using cookie cutters to make a new project every week. $45.

The Levitt AMP Carson City Music Series at The Change Companies stage continues Saturday, July 23 with the charismatic psychedelic cumbia punk, rock and grunge stylings of headliner Tropa Magica. Opening for them is northern Nevada's favorite Latin and funk party band Drinking With Clowns.

On Saturday, April 20, Carson City Community Gardeners and the UNR Extension Master Gardeners came together to get the Community Garden ready for the growing season. For two hours they removed weeds, spread mulch and prepped their garden beds for the season.

In collaboration with Chartwells, the Carson City School District foodservice partner, Culinary Arts students from Ms. Tammy Borreman’s class at Carson Middle School competed in a “Discovery Kitchen Cook Off.” Similar to a mini version of the Food Network’s Iron Chef, the timed cooking competition featured teams of three students who prepared succulent dishes for a judging panel.
