Douglas County Sheriff’s Office in Minden will host a fast-track recruitment day, Saturday, Nov. 18, 2023, at 8:30 a.m. at the agency’s main office located at 1038 Buckeye Road in Minden. This first-ever in-person recruitment day condenses all required testing into a single day where interested applicants can get a jump-start on their law enforcement career.
Carson City area Hugs for Homeless winter clothing drive enters second phase

The Saint Teresa of Avila Conference, Saint Vincent de Paul Society is in the middle of a 5-year commitment to provide new winter clothing to our homeless Neighbors in Need in order to protect vulnerable adults and children from our coldest weather.

Brief traffic stoppages and delays will take place Monday, Nov. 13 at the Mt. Rose Highway, State Route 431, summit as the Nevada Department of Transportation replaces an aging avalanche control system.

Power outage affects more than 3,000 NV Energy customers north of Dayton

A power outage north of Dayton off Six Mile Canyon Road and US-50 has affected more than 3,000 NV Energy customers Sunday morning.
Reno ends 1,000 homes in 120 days program

The Reno City Council voted on Wednesday to sunset the 1,000 homes in 120 days program with 123 units completed, 611 units under building permit and 1,035 units under construction. The original program started in September 2019.

Expanding care for cancer patients in our region, Cancer Care Specialists, has just opened their Carson City office located at 1717 E. College Parkway, Suite 101 which is next door to Sierra Nevada Health Center.
