Science & Nature Speaker Series takes place fourth Thursdays at River Fork Ranch in Minden

Experts from TNC and partner organizations will share their expertise on a variety of topics: water, birds, photography, native seeds and renewable energy.

Carson Pass wildflower hike takes place Sunday, July 16

Carson City Sheriff’s Office hosts 20th Annual Motor Officer Training Challenge Event

This training event allows motorcycle officers, civilians, and retired military members from Nevada, California, Arizona, Utah, Washington and some places in Canada, to come together, learn new techniques and learn new safety skills.
Night Off the Streets manager to speak at Democratic luncheon

NOTS works to connect clients with city agencies and non-profits to address issues that contribute to being unhoused, including medical problems, lack of affordable housing, and lost documents needed for job interviews. Miller oversees warming center operations and serves as a referral advocate to connect clients to services that help them find housing.

Google continues to list it across the street in its old location despite repeated changes by our staff (go figure!). Celebrating its forty-four years serving the community, we are open Sunday July 23rd from 1 to 3PM. A number of our artists will be there to meet you and share art perspectives. Please join us for refreshments and good conversation. Perhaps you will find a treasure to take home as well.
Nevada Humane Society announces new permanent CEO

Annual Tahoe Rim Trail Endurance Runs to start and finish at WNC in Carson City this weekend
Submitted by Kelsey Penrose on Fri, 07/14/2023 - 1:54pmAfter one of the heaviest snow loads that Lake Tahoe has seen, you might think that ultrarunners in the Tahoe Rim Trail Endurance Runs (A Glimpse of Heaven … A Taste of Hell) might need snow shoes instead of running shoes.
But the event on Saturday and Sunday is going on as planned, with all three races starting and finishing at Western Nevada College.
