Forest Service announces changes to prevent misuse and abuse of Tahoe beaches

The media coverage caused public outrage and drew widespread attention to the challenge of preventing litter at the iconic Sierra Nevada destination.

I am attaching the response times through the month of June. As you can see they remain low, and we continue to reduce response times in various areas of the County.

All Things Watercolor

Rector’s show, "All Things Watercolor", will be in the Community Center’s Crowell Board Room, from July 10 through October 19, 2023. CCAI will host a reception for the artist on Tuesday, July 18, 5:00 – 6:30PM with an artist introduction at 5:30PM.
The Community Center is located at 851 E William Street, Carson City. The Crowell Board Room is open for all the city’s public meetings and upon request.
Carson City, Douglas deputies called to armed incident at Minden Casino early Friday morning

At 4:57 a.m., an armed robbery took place at the C.O.D Casino in Minden. Two suspects entered the casino and got away with an unknown amount of money. Shortly after casino employees called 911, a Douglas County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) Deputy located and made contact with the suspect vehicle in a nearby neighborhood. As the deputy approached the suspect vehicle, an individual shot at the deputy, striking the DCSO patrol vehicle but not the deputy. The suspects then fled on foot.

Items up for discussion include the acquisition of water rights for Buzzy's Ranch, union bargaining results, sewer projects, liquor licenses and more.

Carson City Landfill to reopen Friday; fire in area away from where public access can resume

The blaze, while visible throughout the area, is not a threat to the surrounding area, and no structures are damaged, officials said.
