Court Appointed Special Advocates for children needed in Carson City area

In our community we believe that children deserve to grow up in safe and loving homes. At times, children may witness severe domestic violence between their parents, are afraid for their safety when their parents are under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or have parents struggling to remain stable due to severe mental health issues. These children are growing up in unstable situations and feel alone and scared.

Calvin Harris of the U.S. Forest Service attended 775 Offroad and Recovery 4x4 only Show N Shine with the USFS restored 1957 IH 4x4 Firetruck (named Brutus) to participate in the firetruck competition.

Carson City area weather: Excessive Heat Watch issued, dangerously hot temperatures possible

With record high temperatures exceeding 100 degrees and record warm lows projected this weekend throughout the Carson City, Reno and western Nevada region, the National Weather Service has issued an Excessive Heat Watch from late Saturday morning through Monday night.

74-year-old Carson City man sentenced to 10 years to life for multiple child sex offenses

On June 20, 74-year-old Daniel Keith O’Brien of Carson City was sentenced to 10 years to life in prison following an arrest alleging multiple child sex offenses.

Carson City deputies arrest man for unlawful occupancy; was seen inside former apartment

A 28-year-old man was arrested Monday for suspicion of unlawful occupancy, a gross misdemeanor offense, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report.

Sparks Centennial Little League Punches their Ticket to the Little League Softball West Region Tournament

Sparks Centennial Little League’s 12u girls are on their way to represent the State of Nevada at the Little League Softball West Region Tournament in San Bernardino, CA. Centennial brought home the State Championship on Sunday in Battle Mountain winning over Southern Nevada’s Summerlin South 4-0 punching their ticket to Regionals. Centennial will be competing against other 12u girls from Arizona, Hawaii, Northern California, Southern California, and Utah for a spot in the Little League Softball World Series.
