Upper Mt. Rose Highway closed this weekend for emergency repairs

Online pet scams, in which an online search ends with a would-be pet owner paying hundreds of dollars or more to adopt a pet that ultimately doesn’t exist, are especially pervasive during the holiday season.

Snow showers should continue through this afternoon and evening, with some travel impacts on valley and highways and roads, according to the National Weather Service in Reno.

Father and son arrested in connection to starting Caldor Fire
