The 33rd Annual Dayton Valley Days will be held on Sept. 17-18, 2022 and at Wednesday's Room Tax Board meeting in Yerington, the Board awarded the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce $3,000 for advertising and promotional funds for the event.
The meeting was coordinated by Mr. Josh Foli, Lyon County Comptroller.
Enrique Tadeo, Chamber Vice President, attended the meeting with Helaine Morres, Executive Director. Tadeo said "we are very grateful to the Room Tax Board for their support of our event. We are looking forward to a very successful Dayton Valley Days in 2022."
Chamber Application:
"After 32 years, the original promoters have hung up their spurs and the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Center will be taking the reins. It is a two-day community festival that promotes the area’s historic past as well as bringing together vendors for arts & crafts, food booths, Pet Parade, dunk tank, tours of the Dayton Museum, pancake breakfast, car show, Civil War Re-Enactment, rail car rides, music and more. As we are taking it over for the first time, we want to be sure to get the word out to the western and northern Nevada region and the California Gold Country.
Additionally, one of the goals of the Dayton Chamber is to obtain commercial lodging in the Dayton area, the more we can promote ourselves and the area will help in this regard as a great place to invest and build."
Other groups that received funding were the Boys & Girls Clubs of Mason Valley, who received $11,000 for their successful Night in the Country festival; Bulls for the 21st Century Sale - $11,000; Mason Valley BeeKeepers Workshop - $4,000; Yerington's Main Street Classic Car Show - $4,500
