Carson frosh boys take lead in Sierra League
Sparked by a big second half comeback, the Carson High freshman boys basketball team took over sole possession of first-place in the Sierra League with a 56-51 win at home against rival Douglas on Friday afternoon.
By winning, Carson improved to 7-0 in league (15-1 overall) and extended its win streak to 10 straight. Douglas is now 6-1 in leagu
Douglas led 25-10 after one quarter and led by as many as 20 midway through the second period before Carson began its comeback. The Senators pulled to within 38-27 at halftime and 42-39 at the end of the third quarter. Carson only allowed 13 points in the second half, nine of which came in the final period.
Sage Smith scored 14 points and Michael Bass 13 to lead Carson offensively, while Rafe King contributed eight.
