Holiday Treat Concert Dec. 13 in Carson City
It's a Holiday Treat for al l— a feast of seasonal and holiday entertainment in many styles! The Carson City Symphony presents the 32nd annual Holiday Treat concert on Sunday, Dec. 13, 4 p.m., at the Bob Boldrick Theater in the Carson City Community Center.
The Symphony will be joined on the program by the Carson City Symphony Chorus and the New Victorian Dancers. Pre-concert entertainment by saxophone and string quartets and an art show and sale by the Capital City Arts Initiative begin at 3 p.m. in the lobby. The community center is located at , 851 E. William Street.
Treat your whole family: tickets are $15 general admission; $12 for seniors, students, and Symphony Association members; and free for children age 16 and under. Tickets are available in advance at Carson City Visitors Bureau, 716 N. Carson Street; online at CCSymphony.com; by mail and at the door.
The Carson City Symphony, conducted by Music Director/Conductor David Bugli, will perform several works, including "O Holy Night," "Fantasia on 'We three Kings'," "Let it Snow," "Festive Sounds of Hanukah," and more.
The Carson City Symphony Chorus, under the direction of choral conductor Michael Langham, will perform Ave Maria, Birthday Carol, the humorous P.D.Q Bach piece "Good King Kong Looked Out." Chorus and Symphony together will present "'White Christmas" and "Fum, Fum, Fum."
The New Victorian Dancers, choreographed by Tiffany Alm and directed by Sonja Radig, will whirl and swirl to the music of Johann Strauss, Jr.'s "Artist's Life" waltzes. Performers and audience will join together for the traditional Holiday Treat finale, "A Christmas Singalong."
Blood donors may receive a complimentary ticket to the concert if they donate at United Blood Services' Carson City Donor Center, Saturday, Dec. 5, through Saturday, December 12. For information on Donor Center Hours, call 775-887-9111.
Students in Carson City Symphony's Strings in the Schools program and in Carson Middle, Eagle Valley Middle, and Carson High School orchestras also receive complimentary family tickets.
