Carson City Sheriff’s Office recent bookings: Deputies make theft, drug and DUI arrests

A 31-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Saturday 1:38 p.m. in the 3300 block of Market Street for two felony warrants alleging burglary and fraud as well as drug charges, a Carson City sheriff's deputy said.
Krystal Over was taken into custody at 1:38 p.m. She also faces a felony methamphetamine possession charge and two misdemeanors, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to the arrest report, a deputy was conducting a business check and met with Over who provided her Nevada ID card. Dispatch confirmed she had a confirmed felony burglary warrant and a warrant for credit card fraud. She was taken into custody and was asked if she had anything illegal in her purse.

Officers located marijuana, a glass marijuana pipe, a meth pipe and a small bag with methamphetamine. Bail: $14,374. Also arrested was a 36-year-old woman for misdemeanor failure to appear traffic warrant issued Oct. 13. Bail $190.

In other arrests:
— Three were jailed Friday after a traffic stop in the 3100 block of Highway 50 East on felony suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and other charges, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

Yeltsin Hernandez-Dominguez, 23, of Kings Beach, Calif., Clarissa Vazquez-Gonzalez, 21, and Oscar Manuel Vazquez, 23, both of Carson City were taken into custody at 6:30 p.m. after officers found 28.5 grams of marijuana and heroin paraphernalia inside a vehicle following a traffic stop for suspended registration.

Hernandez-Dominguez also faces misdemeanor charges of driving under the influence of drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving with a suspended registration and driving without a valid license. His bail was set at $5,068. Vazquez also faces misdemeanor charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and being an unlicensed person permitted to drive. His bail was set at $3,744. Bail for Vazquez-Gonzalez was set at $2,500.

— A 36-year-old Silver Springs woman, Michelle Howell-Bailey, was booked into jail Friday, noon on a felony warrant, violation of bail conditions. She’s being held without bail in lieu of a hearing. She was brought to Carson City Jail by Lyon County deputies.

— A 25-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Saturday, 4:54 a.m. in the area of East Long and Wendy streets on misdemeanor suspicion of DUI. According to the arrest report, a deputy was called to the scene of a vehicle crash where another deputy was out with two female subjects who were both driving separate vehicles. The deputy advised both female subjects were possibly under the influence of alcohol and asked dispatch for assistance with sobriety tests.

The woman was asked if she would submit to field sobriety tests. The woman agreed and showed signs of impairment. She provided a preliminary breath test of .211. She said she had a beer earlier at a bar. Bail: $1,137.

— A 19-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Saturday, 5:58 a.m. in the 1700 block of Russell Way for suspicion of minor consuming alcohol and being in violation of a suspended sentence. A preliminary breath test showed a .155. She had a clause with alternative sentencing not to consume alcohol. Bail: $1,242.

— Two Carson City men, ages 27 and 30, were arrested Saturday, 11:08 p.m. in the 300 block of North Carson Street for misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct and affray. Both men had been fighting which drew a large crowd outside a bar. Bail: $879 each.

— A 52-year-old transient was arrested Friday, 6:34 p.m. in the 1200 block of South Carson Street for three misdemeanor contempt of court warrants issued Feb. 17, 2016 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail; $1,500.

— A 45-year-old transient was arrested Friday, 4:13 p.m. in the area of South Carson and West Second Street on gross misdemeanor suspicion of possession of burglary tools and misdemeanor possession of marijuana.

According to the arrest report, the man was stopped because his vehicle showed expired registration. It was learned during the traffic stop he had a non-extraditable warrant for burglary in California.

The man was detained while deputies investigated a response regarding the extradition. the suspect told the deputy he had marijuana and two small “roaches” in his pocket and gave the officer permission to search his pockets to retrieve the marijuana. A canine alerted positive for drugs on the outside of the vehicle. During a search of the inside of the vehicle, a deputy found a pair of bolt cutters. Due to the man’s history of burglary and the outstanding burglary warrant, he was arrested. Bail: $3,237.

— A 22-year-old Dayton woman was booked into jail Friday, 11:54 a.m. on a misdemeanor failure to appear warrant issued out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $500.

— A 19-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Friday, 5:58 p.m. in the 1700 block of Russell Way on suspicion of minor consuming alcohol and violation of a suspended sentence. Bail: $1,242.

— A 35-year-old Dayton woman was arrested Thursday at Walmart in the 3200 block of Market Street for felony suspicion of grand larceny after allegedly attempting to steal $789.23 in merchandise, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

Arrested was Chandy Atkins who was taken into custody at 8:25 p.m. According to the arrest report, deputies were dispatched to the store for a grand larceny report. Deputies met with store security who had the suspect detained in their office.

Security told a Carson City deputy that they had observed the woman push a cart full of merchandise throughout the store and then left without paying. She was stopped while loading the merchandise in an SUV. The woman told the arresting deputy what she did was a mistake and that she was angry with the customer service at the store. She said she acted on impulse and left with the items. Bail: $25,000.

On May 15th, 2024, shortly after midnight, deputies with the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence located on the 600 block of Angela Street in Fernley, Nev., reference a caller who reported that he had murdered his mother. The caller additionally provided that he barricaded himself inside the house, was armed with a rifle, and had planted pipe bombs at the residence.

On a sunny Saturday morning, 100 volunteer participants fanned out across Lake Tahoe’s South Shore to take water quality samples from 34 streams, creeks, ponds, and lakes to monitor the health of the Truckee River watershed and Lake Tahoe as part of the 24th annual Snapshot Day. They were joined by teams doing the same tests simultaneously in other regions of the watershed.

Just before noon on Tuesday a crash with injuries was reported on the I-580 on ramp from N. Carson Street.

According to dispatch there are two vehicles involved, one of which was towing a trailer.

Injuries have been reported and the number two lane is blocked.

Traffic cameras show vehicles are moving slowly but are able to get through to Washoe Valley.

Motorists must use caution in the area.
