A 30-year-old man who was already in custody today at the Carson City jail, is a possible suspect in the wounding of a victim on Monday in Washoe Valley, authorities report this afternoon.
Washoe County Sheriff’s Office detectives believe that Matthew Schoeppler, 30, was involved in a physical altercation with a victim in the Washoe Valley area, causing a puncture wound to the victim’s chest. Schoeppler is to have allegedly fled the area of the stabbing while the victim sought medical attention. Schoeppler was an inmate at the jail and was facing unrelated charges, according to a Washoe County press statement.
A Nevada Appeal story reports that Schoeppler allegedly admitted to the crime.
